We were pleasantly surprised to receive a metal frame we thought it was wood. Its all metal! Excellent for our little one! He is a strong heavy boy for 3 1/2 years. This bed is adorable and will last through the years of growth spurts! It was time consuming to assemble. Bring your patience and have a helper if possible to help hold things and bring screws to you. My niece and I sailed through assembly up to the underneath fastening the bottom screws it got tricky we had some screws that didnt want to start at all. We had to call my husband in to help. My son adores this bed and went right to sleep! He said Judahs Bed Hurray! I think he approves!
We love this bed! I was on the market for a house bed and most of them are very expensive. Glad I found this! It is made out of metal, so it is very sturdy and I believe will last a long time. My husband and I put it together quite easily too.
My husband is handy and he put the bed together in four hours. There might have been one section that was not clear but otherwise the directions were good. The bed looks lovely!
Easy to assemble. Using as a single twin until our LO gets old enough to use the top bunk. If planning on using a memory foam mattress, definitely get something underneath not really enough slats to support the memory foam
Easy to put together. We bought two (four boys in one room) and the first one worked great. Even put the bed together by myself. The second one though, one of the pieces was either missing holes or we received the wrong piece. I do not know how the return/replacement process works. We just drilled the holes we needed to finish putting it together. Boys love it.
I just read the manual that came with these bunk beds and in there it tells you to get mattresses that are no more than 37.5-38.5. Really? Twin mattresses are 39 wide and I tried, in vain, to find anything smaller. So Im curious why no one else mentioned how snug the mattresses are on these beds.
Instructions were very clear which made assembling this bed with less difficulty. Labelings on each piece were visible.
The bed is very sturdy and is made of good quality wood.
These beds look great but it comes with too few slates to support the bed (see the before image). We bought memory foam mattresses for our boys and one of the slates broke day 2 when I leaned on it too hard, (190 lbs). Went to home Depot and spent $18 on additional wood slates and wood screws (see after picture). Much better now. The slates that came with it were 9 inches apart, now only 3-4 inches. Much better!
