My hubby put this together by himself and for once he actually used the instructions. One peice though tripped him up and it was the headboard bar that connects the middle strip. Make sure that that bar is inserted between head board legs. MAKE SURE THAT BAR IS INSERTED BETWEEN HEAD BOARD LEGS. If you attach it backwards, there is no rigging ot going around, you will have to unscrew the bar and turn it around, so do it right the first time. Make sure all screws are TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT, that way no squeaking happens. My experience I have had no squeaking. I love the height as Well! Very good value.
